Han Solo Movie Has New Millennium Falcon. The young Han Solo spinoff movie will feature a new spin on the classic Millennium Falcon, showing viewers its first days flying through space. For some fans, the vehicles of Star Wars are just as iconic as the characters, and few are as famous as Han Solo’s ride, which has the reputation of being the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. Appearing in numerous saga films, the Falcon has taken part in some of the most memorable action sequences in the entire franchise, eternally winning a place in the hearts of moviegoers.

It will be seen once again in this December’s The Last Jedi, where it will try to top previous highlights like the asteroid field chase and the escape from Jakku. In the original trilogy, Han was the owner of the Falcon, and with his death in the sequels, Rey is its new captain. But before they sat in the cockpit, the Millennium Falcon was the prized possession of one Lando Calrissian, who eventually lost it to Solo in a card game fair and square.

It goes without saying the ship will be featured in Ron Howard’s Han Solo anthology, which goes back in time to depict the smuggler’s beginnings. Among the topics that’ll be covered are his fateful meeting of Chewbacca, and of course, winning the ship he would one day call home. And it will have a different look in the prequel. According to Making Star Wars, the Falcon will be a “brand new” vehicle in Han Solo and belong to Lando. The color scheme varies from the predominantly gray design in the previous installments, as it has “blue detailing all over it” to go along with a coat of white paint.

Fans will also get a chance to see the Falcon move some cargo thanks to an attachment that connects to the front and “elongates” the ship. The site compares the look of the Falcon to an image of it from Revenge of the Sith, which you can check out by clicking on their link. Given Han Solo is set in the years before A New Hope (covering Han’s life from ages 1. Falcon will also appear “younger” in the spinoff. As seen in the other films, the ship has experienced some wear and tear (it was in need of repairs in Empire Strikes Back), but at some point it was fresh off the lot and state- of- the- art. One of Howard’s set photos showed Lando sailing through hyperspace, so we know the Falcon will get to see some action.

In addition to making logical sense for the narrative, there’s a clever marketing component in play here as well, since the likes of Hasbro and LEGO will be able to sell “new” Falcon toys that contain the different design. For collectors, it could be a must have item when Han Solo merchandise hits shelves. Lucasfilm is currently in the middle of their big marketing push for The Last Jedi, so it is unknown when proper advertising will begin for Han Solo. Hopefully the curtain gets pulled back soon, as a well- cut teaser would go a long way in changing the conversation surrounding the troubled project. Howard’s behind- the- scenes teases have acted as a nice stopgap damage control, but everyone is curious to see some actual footage so they can gauge the film’s potential quality.
